MANDALUYONG CITY, PHILIPPINES July 13, 2018 –  13 agencies of the United Nations in the Philippines officially inaugurated UN House Manila today.

The United Nations (UN) delegation headed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Country Representative Charlotte Sylwander signed the lease agreement to move the UN offices to the Rockwell Business Center Sheridan in Mandaluyong City after 13 years in their Makati HQ. One of the oldest operations in Asia, the Philippines has been a part of the UN since 1949.

Ms. Sylwander said “This is a significant milestone in the history of the United Nations in the Philippines. We are moving closer to the offices of our partners, and the proximity of the Rockwell Business Center - Sheridan to the national government offices with whom we work very closely with, made this decision easier for all of us. This will improve our travel time and translate to higher productivity for our team. This new investment also cements our commitment to the Philippines as an important country partner.”

“We are honored to provide our expertise as property consultants to the UN and are pleased to find a new home for them after a long period of search”, Pronove Tai CEO Monique Pronove commented.

Among these special requirements were security and safety, and a more centralized location among its partners. The new business address fit the requirements plus more – having a Silver LEED certification as well as a recent proclamation as a Philippine Economic Zone Authority accredited building.

The intergovernmental organization’s agencies including UNICEF, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and United Nations Population Fund (UN FPA) among others, commenced operations at the UN House Manila.
